Staff Council

The Foundation for Cultural Education and Cultural Consulting (SKWK) has had a staff council since 2019. The current staff council was elected for the 2024–2028 term.

Responsibilities

The staff council represents the interests of the employees of SKWK primarily through its right to participate in individual personnel matters or work-related issues. This is achieved through resolutions passed by the staff council on a case-by-case basis or through the conclusion of service agreements.

The staff council is responsible for monitoring compliance with relevant laws and safety regulations and for developing proposals to improve working conditions and occupational health and safety. In addition, the staff council has a right of co-determination (“Mitbestimmung”) regarding workplace design and many personnel matters (e.g., working time regulations, occupational safety).
The staff council is also required to verify whether legal, collective bargaining, or administrative regulations have been followed in hiring procedures. Applicants in hiring procedures conducted by SKWK also have the option to contact the staff council if they believe they may have been disadvantaged or discriminated against during the hiring process.

Receiving suggestions and complaints and working to resolve them is also an important part of our work as staff council.

Service Agreements
